Chelcy Harrell has trained and performed for over 20 years in various cities across the country such as Dallas, Oklahoma City, Boston and New York City. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at Oklahoma City University with a minor in Directing. After college, she decided to continue developing her gymnastics and dance background, training in various forms of Circus Arts. She has trained extensively in Aerial Silks and Partner Acrobatics. She has performed with numerous aerial companies in New York City in showcases, variety shows and music videos. She was a company member with "The Group,' a Brooklyn based acrobatic troupe, specializing in dynamic hand-to-hand and group acrobatics. She has had the opportunity to train with several acclaimed international circus artists including Angela Butch and Yoni Kallai (The Muse), Françoise Voranger (Hybrid Movement Company), Nathan Redwood-Price (Circus Space, 7 Doigts de la Main), Niko Douwes (Pitch Catch Circus, partneracrobatics.com), Tyll Wibben and Anne Zimmerman (Duo Stahlweich) and many more! Chelcy is very passionate about combining her theatre and circus training. Her dream is to further explore the marriage of the two to create a unique and innovative style of storytelling.
Chelcy and her family recently relocated back to Oklahoma City where she now is pursuing various local performing ventures.
She and other Oklahoma City University alums started a new performing arts company called Fresh Paint Performance Lab, where she is currently serving as Artistic Director.
